    Naom Kemunto, a determined student from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT), recently celebrated her graduation following an extraordinary seven-year endeavor working in a tea plantation to overcome financial obstacles and finance her education.

    Kemunto’s narrative stands as a powerful testament to her unyielding determination and resilience in the face of considerable challenges.

    Faced with financial hurdles that could have easily deterred many, she made the significant decision to embark on a seven-year-long commitment to work in a tea plantation. Her dedication and sacrifice became integral to her pursuit of knowledge.

    Originally from a humble background in Nyamira, Kemunto enrolled at JKUAT in 2017 with the goal of earning a degree in Food Science and Nutrition.

    Her decision to share her inspiring journey on social media, particularly Twitter, reflects her gratitude and emphasizes the transformative power of education. In her post, she expressed, “Joined JKUAT in 2017 and left in 2023. Delay is not denial.”

    The tea plantation, where Kemunto diligently worked as a tea picker, became more than a workplace; it evolved into a poignant symbol of her dedication to securing a place in academia.
