Uncle Arthur Moody Awori is not a new name to many Kenyans.He was the 9th vice president of Kenya. He was in the office till 2008.He was one of the best ever vice president and under his regime with Kibaki,they really did alot.
Who is Moody Awori.
Awori is a former politician and,vice president of Kenya. He was born in 1928(94Years) in Butere /Mumias.He is a father and a family man.He served as the vice president, from 2003 to 2008.

Joining Politics
After completing his university education in Makerere,Moody joined politics.He became the member of parliament of Funyula in Busia in 1983.
Under President Daniel arap Moi, he served in several positions as assistant minister.
In 2002 Uncle Moody joined NARC ,after parting ways with KANU. President Kibaki became his closest friend,so he gave him a home and affairs minister job .
In 2003, following the death of the former vice president , Kijana Wamalwa, Moody Awori became his replacer. He served as the VC for 5 years.He lost parliamentary seat in 2007.
On 8 January 2008, Kibaki named Kalonzo Musyoka to replace Him. Moody Awori handed over the office on 9thJanuary.This is when he quitted politics and went at his village mansion in Funyula Busia.

AWARDS
The former vice president played a very great role in helping the disabled community.He is also the founder chairman of the Association for the Physically Disabled of Kenya.
2004, he was awarded the degree in recognition of his many years of dedicated service to the disadvantaged in society.
Kenyan Government decorated Moody Awori ,with two high level State awards – Elder of the Burning Spear (EBS) and Elder of the Golden Heart (EGH).

Life After Politics.
2007 was the last time he vied for a political seat. After handing over the deputy President seat to Kalonzo,he went to his village home.
Uhuru Kenyatta gave him a job as the chairman of youths sports fund.He is still serving that position as he enioys his old age life in funyula.
The 94 years old is still doing well, despite some healthy issues related to old age. We wish him all the best and age gracefully.
