Big Blow To Kenya As CAF Declares Kasarani And Nyayo Unfit For CHAN Tournament, 2025

Despite spending millions of money on renovating Kasarani and Nyayo Stadium, the government of Kenya has suffered a very huge blow, after CAF declared both stadium unfit to hold CHAN tournament.

The tournament was supposed to happen on February, but CAF postponed to August to give Kenya time to renovate their stadiums. The government set aside Millions of money for renovation, however it seems like it was just zero work.

The assessors from CAF have said that there is no field in Kenya that meets the international standards, for holding international matches. They have therefore said that Kasarani and Nyayo are unfit to hold the tournament.

The cabinet secretary of sports and the special committee that was assigned the duty of renovation hasn’t issued any statements, meaning Kenya might miss out this opportunity of holding such an important international competition.
