How Betting Addiction Nearly Destroyed My Life
My name is Kevin from Kisumu, and if there is one thing I regret deeply, it is the day I started betting.
It began innocently with friends after work. We would place small bets on football matches and laugh about it. Sometimes we won small amounts of money, and that feeling of easy cash became addictive.
Soon I was betting every day.
At first I used my spare money. Then I started using money meant for rent. When losses piled up, I convinced myself the next bet would recover everything.
But the next bet never fixed anything.
Within months I had borrowed money from friends, family, and even online loan apps. My phone was constantly ringing with debt collectors demanding payment.
One evening my landlord locked my house because I had not paid rent for two months. I slept outside that night, staring at the sky and wondering how my life had collapsed so quickly.
A relative advised me to seek help from a doctor known for helping people overcome personal struggles.
After visiting and following the advice I was given, I slowly began to rebuild my life. I deleted all betting apps, avoided gambling friends, and started focusing on work again.
Today I am still paying my debts, but I have something more valuable than money.
Peace of mind.
