Meru Governor Wants The Government To Allow Locals To Milk Elephants.
Unlike other governors who have been pleading with the government to allocate more money to counties for development, the governor of Meru, Isaac Mutuma is pleading with the government, to allow Meru residents to be milking elephants.
During an event that was happening in their county, The governor, who was talking on how tourism can be improved in the region, he suggested that residents should be made to love the wild animals.
According to him the people of Meru can only love wild animals such as elephants and giraffes if they are gaining value from them. Value in governors notion, value is milk. Hence if the government can allow the residents to be milking the elephants, they will love them and this will play a very huge role in promoting tourism in the region, because they will be taking care of the animals.
