Wazee Wamekataa, Kenyans React After Senator Hezena Cancels Wedding & Returns Ksh.100,000 Dowry

Nominated senator Hezena Lematian is trending online, after she decided to make it public that she won’t get married to her fiance as it was expected.

The two got engaged in 2024, October, and the plans were for them to get married in 2025. However the senator has decided to cancels everything, after a thorough background check.

She said that according to Samburu culture, before any marriage, elders have to do a very thorough background check. They did, and they decided to call off everything. Hence the wedding won’t happen, and she won’t get married to the man because of some cultural things that elders discovered.

The senator said that the family had presented Ksh.100,000 dowry, the money has been refunded back, and now everything is cool and she won’t married to that man.
