” There Are No Free Houses” Ruto Change s Tune On Rewarding Harambee Stars Players 2 Bedroom Houses.
President William Ruto had promised to reward Harambee Stars players each a 2 bedroom house and Ksh.2.5 Million each if they reach the semi finals of CHAN tournament.
However the stars were defeated by Madagascar in the quarter finals, and eliminated through penalties. That automatically meant that they won’t receive the rewards, but Kenyans online urged the president to just reward them for making the nation proud.
Today on 28th August, Ruto met the entire team at the Statehouse, he made it clear that they won’t be given free 2 bedroom houses each. However the president said that those houses, are worth each Ksh.2 Million, hence the government will pay Ksh.1 Million for each player, and they will pay the remaining amount of money for themselves.
They will be put on a mortgage so that they will be just paying some little amounts of money monthly.
