Ksh.2 Billion Gone, Why BRT System Along Thika Road Has Stalled For 3 Years Now

Ksh.2 Billion Gone, Why BRT System Along Thika Road Has Stalled For 3 Years Now
If you are a non Nairobian or a new comer in the city, you might have seen some unique metal structures along Thika road, and wondered what are they? . This are the structures of BRT system, that Uhuru Kenyatta had started before the end of his tenure. For your information they have already costed Kenyans, Ksh.2 Billion of there tax money.
A good number of Kenyans were very happy when the project was launched. Perhaps they knew it would have been a game changer in the industry. Workers were on site working day and night, the dream was coming real, until president William Ruto assumed to power.
He promised to complete the project, but for 3 years now, nothing has been done, the metals have started to rust, and this now looks like a forgotten project.
What a waste of resources, the project was supposed to cost Kenyans, Ksh.5.6 Billion, and it was to be a connection between Nairobi and Thika. The government had already released Ksh.2 billion, and then it has been unable to get ksh.3.6 billion to complete the project.
The dream of Nairobi becoming like New York has been shattered, and the way things are going on, the government has never given any updates on the system, it is silent and government officials are back on top of their cars to campaign for the 2027 elections.
