Despite all those difficulties, Grace passed her KCPE exams very well, she scored, 392 marks out of 500. She wasn’t able to join highschool due to lack of school fees and no one was ready to support her.

She decided to start hustling, she used to do any work , such as washing clothes for people, and all the other non skilled jobs. During this period she met a man, one thing led to other, and this man was a gentleman. The two decided to start a family.

After giving birth to their first child, her husband changed, he became more violent, and he started using hard drugs. Life wasn’t the same again, they used to fight alot, to the point, Grace decided to exit the relationship.

Her husband was however not ready to let her go, he used to follow her everywhere she went. So one day he entered her house with violence, he grabbed her neck and told her , it is either they get back together, or he kills him.

Before he died, he tried to cover up Grace name by telling the nurse, that they met robbers and the robbers attacked them. However Grace decided to let the cat out of the bag and admitted that she is the one who killed him .

She was Arrested, taken to court, later taken to mental hospital, and finally charged for a manslaughter case. She was taken to Mathare hospital because of confessing to have killed her husband.
