There is a looming division in ODM, some members of Parliament led by Samuel Atandi, Junet Mohammed and Governor Gladys Wanga, are fighting for Sifuna to be fired as the party Secretary General. Raila Odinga has been also accused of double speak, this is after he defended Sifuna for criticizing the government and William Ruto.

According to the MPs of ODM who are supporting Ruto, they claim that ODM is part of government and they had an agreement with Ruto that they will fully support him. However on the other hand Raila Odinga said that ODM is not in government, they only send their experts to help Ruto. He said that they only had an agreement to work together upto 2027.

However on the other hand, the MPs who are supporting Ruto from ODM have vowed to support him in 2027 elections, and they are demanding for a disciplinary action to be taken on Sifuna for criticizing Ruto, some even want him out of the party.
