” Any Police Officer Or Chief Who Will Be Caught Saying WANTAM Will Be Fired ” CS Murkomen Says.
Cabinet Secretary for Interior Kipchumba Murkomen has threatened to fire any police officer or chief who is heard using the term “WANTAM” or referring to President William Ruto as “Kasongo.” Murkomen said such actions are illegal and warned that the government is fully prepared to dismiss any individuals in the security sector who appear to be supporting the Gen Z movement.
According to Murkomen, chiefs and police officers took an oath to serve the government and are therefore not allowed to act against it. He stated that the government will not tolerate such behavior it’s either they support the government, resign, or face dismissal. He added that authorities are closely monitoring police officers and chiefs, and are ready to take action against those suspected of supporting the young protesters.
This, according to critics, is another sign of desperation from the government, which appears to be employing all possible tactics. However, it seems the reality is sinking in 2027’s elections may not be easy for them.
