Raila Junior Shaved As Part Of Luo Rituals Following The Death Of His Father

Raila Odinga’s lastborn son Raila Junior has decided to abide by the luo traditions after the death of his father Raila Odinga.

The entire Odinga’s family is still at Bondo, and they are expected to stay there for a while until all the traditions rituals are done. After the burial they were supposed to mourn Raila for 3 days and then after that other rituals will follow.

The second part of the rituals is cleansing the family, it is a sign of showing respect to the death and also making peace with them, hence letting them rest in eternal peace. In Luo community, shaving is part of cleansing, hence that is why Raila Junior has been shaved according to the Luo traditions.
