Jonah Kariuki the father to the young man, Boniface Kariuki, mask seller who was shot during Tuesday demonstrations, has been conned Ksh.200,000. Kenyans had started raising money to support the family, after Eric Omondi shared the details online. Mzee’s money in Mpesa was wiped all by scammers.

According to Johah Kariuki, some people who were scammers posed like Eric Omondi, and convinced him that they will help him clear the hospital bill of his son. They also said that they are linked to SHA. Jonah didn’t hesitate to trust them, he ended up giving them the Mpesa pin of his sim card. They wiped all the money im Mpesa and left him helpless. Ksh.200,000 vanished like that.
