Boniface Mwangi Kariuki has been admitted at Kenyatta Hospital for about 2 weeks, and he has been in ICU surviving on life support machines. The young man has undergone more than three surgeries trying to save his life. However it seems like the rubber bullet damaged his brains beyond treatment.

Meaning of brain dead

Brain death (also known as brain stem death) is when a person on an artificial life support machine no longer has any brain functions. This means they will not regain consciousness or be able to breathe without support. A person who is brain dead is legally confirmed as dead.

It is now giving the family time to start preparing for his dead, he can no longer survive. It is indeed a very difficult time for family and friends, may almighty God comfort them during this difficult moments.
