” I Went To Bed With A Headache & Woke Up Blind” Former Harambee Stars And Afc Leopards Player Says.
Former AFC leopards captain and Harambee stars player Martin Imbalambala has once again recounted how he lost his eyesight at the peak of his career. Imbalambala is now blind and he is still hopeful that one day his eyesight will return and he will go back to playing football.
Speaking in a viral podcast video, Imbalambala said that one day, in 2018, he experienced severe headache, he thought it was just normal. Hence he bought some painkillers, took the medicines atleast to reduce pain. However he started having s blurred vision.
Things were not okay, he took more painkillers, went to bed to sleep, and the next day, he was blind. He couldn’t see anything, his family members were shocked, they tried doing some experiments, and they proved that he had lost his eyesight.
He was rushed to hospital, received some treatment, given medication but the eyesight didn’t regain. He had to be shifted to Sabatia eye hospital in Vihiga, it was discovered that his optic nerve had been damaged. It is irreversible, meaning his condition can’t be treated.
He has gone to several hospitals, but the results are just the same. That is how he decided to accept his condition and he has been living as a blind person for 7 years now.
