” Huyo Kijana HakusuKumwa, Alianguka Peke Yake” Supermetro Driver Says On Gilbert’s Incident
A driver from Supermetro company has come out openly to defend the sacco after, the government suspended their operation licence. The government via NTSA ceased the vehicles from the company from operating on all roads untill further notice.
This is following the death of Gilbert Thuku Kimani, who was pushed from a moving vehicle and died on the spot.
However the driver said that Gilbert fell on his own, he was drunk and no one pushed him. He refused to pay fare, and while scrambling to be on the Matatu, he missed the metal he was targeting to hold and fell on the road.

Gilbert Thuku was laid to rest on 20th march 2025. His family is still seeking for justice. The conductor who pushed him is still on the run, the driver was arrested.
