” Anajenga Kanisa Statehouse na Tuko Njaa” Githurai Residents Complain As Sabasaba Protest Kick-off.

Kenyans are growing increasingly frustrated with the decisions and priorities set by the current administration. The Saba Saba protests, originally intended as a peaceful commemoration of the heroes who fought for multi-party democracy in Kenya, have now become a platform for the youth especially Gen Z, to demand better governance, an end to police brutality, accountability, and justice.

In Githurai, residents began protesting earlier, leading to a complete disruption of transport along Thika Road. They are expressing outrage over the government’s decision to construct a Ksh.1.2 billion church at State House while many Kenyans are facing hunger.

Githurai residents have pledged to protest throughout the day, aiming to march along Thika Road and reach Nairobi’s Central Business District (CBD). Despite roadblocks that may hinder their movement, they insist the demonstration will remain peaceful. Their primary objective is to have their voices heard by the government, and some are even calling for the president’s resignation.
