Ruto Reveals that Njugush and Butita Earn More money from YouTube than his salary.
President William Ruto caused stir online again, after he decided to speak about online media and content creation. The president who has been at the forefront of urging kenyans to pay tax, decided to speak about the relationship between Kenya and online platforms such YouTube and acknowledged Comedian Butita and Njugush.

William Ruto said that his government has come in terms with YouTube, and they agreed that Kenyans can register and monetize their channels in Kenya. He said that it wasn’t an easy thing but he appreciates youtube for agreeing their request and allowing kenyans to monetize their channels locally.

Ruto said that online content creators are making millions of money from YouTube. He urged Njugush and Eddie Butita to stand up, and he applauded them for the great work they are doing in the field of comedy.

Ruto created a light moment by saying that Eddie Butita and Njugush make more money from YouTube than his salary. They are very wealthy and they are also hardworking.
” Huyu Njugush na Butita msiwaone tu ivo, ati wamevaa tshirts, hawa wanapata pesa nyingi sana hata kuliko mshahara yangu” Ruto said.
In the coming financial bill, the government is anticipating to tax content creators, 15% of their income, something that most content creators are against, and they are pleading with the government to reduce the percentage and atleast allow them to hustle and plan their life with the little they make.
