Deputy president Rigathi Gachagua caused stir online , after he decided to publicly expose Ruaka youths for attempting to sell for him drugs,while he was on his way to a certain funeral , just within Ruaka.

Rigathi Gachagua’s allegations comes amidst the country fight for drug abuse and illicit brew is on the peak. It has been revealed that youths from central Kenya have become drug addicts and even some are dropping out of school to peddle drugs.

Speaking in an event in central Kenya, deputy president picked out Ruaka as one of the most affected area in Kiambu County. The DP said that young youths are fearless and despite him being a senior most person in the government, they approached his car, and they were requesting him to buy drugs from them.

” Juzi nilikuwa napita pale Ruaka nikienda matanga, vijana wadogo walitaka kuniuzia mimi mwenye deputy president drugs ” Gachagua said.
Ruaka has been on the spot recently, and it has been identified as the hotspot of drug abusers in Kenya. Kimani Ichungwa claimed that Ruaka has more drug abusers as compared to Mombasa, and most of them are just young people who are school dropout.

The national government has declared a crackdown on drug peddlers and illicit brew sellers in Mt Kenya region. Most bars that haven’t been licensed will be close down and the government will control the licensing process.
