The relationship between Tony Kwalanda and Joyce Maina was expected to last long. The two took social media by a sturn and after making it public that they are a couple, they became a point of focus for many kenyans.

That time both of them were working at Switch Tv, this is after Tony had exited K24. Tony showed his interest on Joyce shot his shot and Joyce accepted him.
However their relationship didn’t last long. Speaking in an interview at Radio 47, Tony said that indeed they were in love but the way he saw things, he just decided to quit the relationship before it could have gone far.
The two had met the parents of both sides, and they had agreed that the two are free to get married. Tony Kwalanda said that one day they were at the basement, and they had a conversation about children, especially naming of their children.
Joyce insisted that she will name her children the names of her choice. However this was contradicting the culture of Tony. According to him the kabras culture allows men to give children name, and the names must follow the liniege.

That was a sign of redflag and this was just a no, he saw that the relationship won’t work if Joyce has that mentality. There was an issue about cooking, whereby Joyce used to tell him to cook. The relationship had alot of redflags, but the main reason for their break up was the naming of the children.
