Out Of 192 Countries, Kenya Ranks 4th Ahead Of Jamaica In The Oregon Championship

Oregon championship competitions medal table is taking shape and Kenya is ranking pretty well. Jamaica has a good reputation when it comes to races, the fastest man and woman alive comes from their country. The competitions have been nothing short of what we expected and with a few more days to go, the medal table is taking shape.

After a few hiccups,over 1500 athletes from 192 different countries around the world met up in Oregon ready to represent their nations. A few athletes were locked out of the championship due to visa delays and others were kick out after failing the doping tes

United States of America is tops the Oregon competition medal table and by quite the margin. So far, USA has managed to bag a total of 19 medals. They have already collected six gold medals, five silver medals and a eight bronze medals. They have achieved more than double of what Ethiopia, who are second on the list.

Ethiopia have three gold medals to their name. Tamrat Tolla bagged gold for Eithopia and he managed to set a new world championship record in the men’s marathon.  Letesenbet Giday also won the 10,000 women’s race.

Kenya booked the fourth spot after collecting a total of six medals. Faith Kipyegon won the 1500M women’s race to bag the first gold medal for Kenya. With three silver medals and one bronze medal, Kenya sits comfortably in front of Jamaica.

Oregon Medal Table

Shelly Ann Fraser Pryce won her fifth gold medal and the first gold medal for Jamaica in Oregon. She managed to finish the 100M women’s race in 10.67 seconds. Apart from her medal, Jamaica has won two silver medals and one bronze medal.
