Residents were thrown into panic after a stolen motorcycle was discovered hidden inside a church compound, raising uncomfortable questions and deep fear within the neighborhood. What many believed was a sacred and safe place suddenly became the center of a disturbing mystery.
The drama began early in the morning when a church caretaker noticed a motorcycle partly covered with sacks behind a rarely used store building. At first, he assumed it belonged to a visiting congregant.
But upon closer inspection, the registration number appeared scratched and unfamiliar. Suspicion quickly grew.
Word spread fast. Neighbours gathered outside the church, whispering and pointing, afraid of what the discovery meant.
Some recalled that a motorcycle had been reported stolen a week earlier from a nearby town. Others feared the compound was being used as a hiding place for criminal activities because no one ever questioned movements within church grounds.
Police were alerted and arrived shortly after. Upon inspection, they confirmed the motorcycle had indeed been reported stolen. Shock deepened when it emerged that no church official could explain how or when it entered the compound.
Tension rose as residents accused each other, and some even suspected inside involvement. Fearing the situation could explode into accusations and mob reactions, community elders advised calm.
