Inspector David Maina Opens Up On Getting Plastic Hands After Loosing Both Hands During Maandamano.

Inspector David Maina was among the few police officers who got very serious injuries during the GenZ protests. David lost both hands on july after a teargas detonated in his hands, while he was trying to disperse the protesters.

He was taken at Nairobi West Hospital, where he has been receiving special treatment. Maina is now in a stable condition, but he has no hands. He is back in the office and he is trying to adapt to the new lifestyle.

The inspector said that he is opportunistic of getting plastic hands very soon, and this will atleast help him to continue with his duties as the inspector. Maina said that he wasn’t targeting anyone with the teargas, he wanted to throw it at an empty space so that it can just disperse the crowd that was approaching.

He said that it was just an accident and now he has accepted his condition.
