Elvis Opiyo SDA Church Member Involved in Mary Clare Acid Attack Wife Finally Breaks Silence, Reveals What killed Her Husband

New details have emerged following the death of National Intelligence Service officer Elvis Opiyo, who had been accused of involvement in an acid attack targeting SDA singer Mary Clare Ochieng.

Opiyo’s wife has told investigators that her husband died by suicide after being released on personal bond, claiming that he had been struggling with severe emotional distress linked to the case.

The woman, who said she lives in Nanyuki with their children, reportedly travelled to Umoja in Nairobi to visit Opiyo after his release. She said his mental and emotional condition had deteriorated significantly during the period surrounding the case.

According to her account, Opiyo was deeply distressed by the accusations against him and was struggling to cope with the pressure surrounding the investigation. She described him as being affected by depression and said the situation had taken a heavy toll on his wellbeing.

The wife also recounted the events leading to the discovery of his body. She said she briefly left after returning from an outing to visit a neighbour. Upon returning, she allegedly found Opiyo lifeless while seated inside the home.

Shocked by the discovery, she said she immediately sought help and informed police officers, prompting authorities to begin the necessary procedures surrounding his death.

Opiyo’s death adds another development to the case involving the alleged attack on Ochieng. The circumstances surrounding his death, as well as the allegations that had been levelled against him, remain subject to investigation.

Authorities are expected to establish the circumstances leading to his death while continuing to examine the wider case.

The wife’s account provides a personal perspective on the final days of the officer, although investigators will have to independently establish the circumstances and cause of his death.
