Chebui: A Poor Village In Kenya, With No School, Hospital, Electricity, Water, They Live In Caves

Chebui village is located somewhere in Mt Elgon area, is a village of IDPs, and currently is considered as the poorest village in Kenya. In a documentary that was done by Afrimax English, they exposed how the villagers are really struggling to try and thrive in a village that has been forgotten by the government.

They live life like ancient people, it is a village of over 100 people, they don’t own houses, they reside in caves. The whole village doesn’t have a healthy centre, they have to walk for kilometres to get healthcare services, meaning it is difficult for women who deserve maternal care.

The entire village has no water, has no electricity, they just depend on sunlight, they walk for distance to gain access to clean water.

They have no schools, some children are forced to learn in the caves, and for others they have to walk for kilometres while going to a school that is considered to be the nearest.

Life in Chebui village is like hell, they have been living in caves for years now, they feel like the Kenyan government has sidelined them.
