    Billy Miya: My 1st Salary in Nairobi Was Ksh.80,000 Per Month.

    One of the most famous and celebrated radio presenter, Billy Miya, finally decided to open up on his journey to success and how he has been through alot while trying to make his dreams in the field of journalism come true.

    Speaking in an interview at  TV 47 , Billy Miya said that after completing his diploma course, he started hustling. He worked for Baraka fm for a while before he landed into a luxurious job at milele fm.

    Joining Milele was the first time for him to reach Nairobi. He had difficult time in understanding the city, and sometimes he could pay a motorbike guy, upto ksh.1000, so that they can take him to some places, where he later realised that it was just a walking distance.

    At Milele Billy revealed that he used to earn a salary of ksh.80,000 per month. However his job just ended abruptly , he was replaced when he wasn’t willing to quit the station. By goodluck he landed another luxurious job at Radio Maisha.

    At Radio Maisha, which is a standard media owned radio station, his payslip rose, and he used to earn upto ksh.250,000 per month, and this really changed his life.

    In 2023, he made a very hard decision which was quitting Radio Maisha and joining Radio 47, however according to him, he doesn’t regret the decision because he is comfortable, everything is good and also his salary has increased.

    Billy Miya said he loves the radio presenter job and he always does it with passion, that is why he is among the most successful radio presenters in Kenya.
