A Woman from Homa Bay Finds Peace in Her Dreams

A Woman from Homa Bay Finds Peace in Her Dreams

Every night, Achieng from Homa Bay was haunted by the same dream ,calling out to a voice she couldn’t see. She woke each morning trembling and exhausted, like sleep had trapped her instead of rested her. Doctors told her to breathe, to sleep more, to try meditation  but nothing helped.
Finally, a close friend told her about a doctor who helped people troubled by dreams that felt heavier than sleep itself. Desperate, Achieng traveled near Lake Victoria at twilight and sat quietly beside the doctor as crickets chirped into night.
He didn’t cast magic spells. He asked questions about her dreams, her childhood, her deepest longings. He brewed herbs meant not for curing the body, but for calming the spirit. Together, they worked through the images in her dreams, understanding them not as fear, but as messages her heart had been holding too tightly.
Night after night, she learned to face each dream, whispering courage to herself as the moon rose. On the final night, she stood on the shores of the lake in her dream  but this time she didn’t call for the unseen voice. Instead, she watched peaceful water reflect moonlight.
    When she woke, she smiled.
Not because the dreams stopped entirely  but because they no longer frightened her.
Peace had finally settled in her sleep.
