Where Is Mike Baraza? Meet Former Top Harambee Stars Striker Living Humble Life In The Village
If you mentions football legends in Kenya, then Mike Baraza will appear among the top ten best strikers Kenya has ever heard. He was a maestro in the field, and most of football lovers still have memories of him scoring some iconic goals.
He was a top scorer in Kenya premier league for a while before his retire. He was also scoring for Harambee stars and he even helped them win cecafa trophy sometimes back.
Baraza played for Ulinzi stars and AfC Leopards when he was at his peak. He still has an outstanding record. However he was forced to end his football career in 2017, due to some issues back at home. His father was battling with cancer.
Baraza was the one taking care of him, he decided to dedicate his time to his dad, but unfortunately he passed on. Baraza made a decision to relocate to his rural home. As he was still trying to heal from the death of his dad, he made a final decision to just remain at upcountry.
He tried many things including farming, but the struggle has been real. Baraza is now living in a mud thatched house, a very humble background. That is not how a football legend is expected to be living.
However finally there is light at the end of the tunnel, the football federation has promised to help him bounce back soon. He might get a role in naturing talents in Kenya.
