The cases of people being sold fake phones in Nairobi CBD are on the rise, and the most affected people are the iPhone people. For the last three months a good number of Nairobians have complained of being sold fake iPhones by some unknown traders in the city, who operate as freelancers.
The latest incident is of a young lady, who emotionally narrated how she was sold a fake phone in Nairobi CBD. The phone was an iPhone 13 Promax. The lady said that she didn’t buy in a specific shop, but it was a deal with a stranger, who even offered to sell her a phone for only ksh.80,000. This was a cut of Ksh.20,000 from the original price of iPhone 13 Promax which is currently retailing at Ksh.100,000 .
The deal was good, the lady paid the money, but upon reaching her house, she found out that it was a dummy phone, the phone was fake and it is just the fake iPhones that are normally used for display.
