Harambee Stars Receive Major Financial Motivation Ahead of CHAN

The Harambee Stars have received another major motivational boost this time from someone known for keeping his promises. Former Nairobi Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko has pledged to reward Kenya’s national football team with Ksh. 400 million if they win the CHAN (African Nations Championship) trophy.

This latest promise brings the total potential reward to Ksh. 1 billion, following an earlier pledge by President William Ruto, who promised Ksh. 600 million if the team clinches the title.

Led by captain Aboud Omar, the team now has substantial motivation to perform well, overcome all opponents, and aim for victory. Additionally, President Ruto has promised each player Ksh. 1 million for every match they win and Ksh. 500,000 for every match they draw.

Mike Sonko has also vowed to support the players in person. He said he will attend matches to cheer them on and confirmed that the funds are already set aside. According to him, the reward will be given in cash to fulfill his promise.
