Wanjiku Mburu famous as Mama Baha from the Machachari Show, which was one of the most loved TV programs some years back, has come out openly to reveal to the public, the reason why Citizen Tv doesn’t pay them for airing the repeat of the show.

Speaking in an interview with online media, Wanjiku said that she is aware that Citizen TV usually airs the repeat of the Machachari show, that ended officially in 2020 during the Covid 19 period.

She confirmed that it is true there are no royalties that the giant media station is paying them for airing their content. She said that during the signing of the contract, they weren’t aware of things like royalties, so they just signed and as things are, the content belongs to Citizen Tv and not them.

Therefore Citizen are the owners of their content, and they have the right to air it anytime they want, without informing the actors and without paying them some royalties.

Wanjiku was somehow regretting, but she said it was like a learning lesson, and in any program she features, she is going to be very keen about royalties.

As much as Citizen Tv isn’t paying them, it gave them a platform to market their brands, and they became celebrities. A good number of actors from the show are in the limelight and doing well in life, there are only a few who are still struggling with life.
