” In A Democracy You Can Never Get 96% Of The Votes” Ruto On Samia Suluhu Victory.
President William Ruto seemed to question the credibility of Tanzanian election and the victory of Samia Suluhu. Speaking in an interview with Alijazeera, Ruto said that he isn’t judging Samia Suluhu, but in a democratic country, no one can win a presidential election with 96% of the votes.
Ruto said that maybe the democracy of Tanzania is very different from Kenyan democracy, because every country has a way of doing it’s own stuff. He said confidently that in a country like Kenya, you will never hear a presidential candidate, winning the presidential election with 96%, they even struggle to get that 50% plus 1%.
However Ruto said that he isn’t in a position to talk about the elections in Tanzania, they know how they handle their things and maybe their democracy allow them to have a presidential election winner, with over 96% of the votes.
