Why William, A Maseno University Student Was Shot to Death By The Police
Maandamano day didn’t end well for William who was a THIRD year literature student at Maseno University. According to information obtained from a reliable source, it has been revealed that William was shot by a live bullet by the police who were trying to control the crowd.

Maseno is in Nyanza and Majority of residents from the region took part in the demonstration against the high food prices. Just like other Azimio la umoja supporters William and others were demonstrating.
There demonstration led to interference of the normal operations in Maseno, and the police officers were forced to disperse the protesters. Just like it happened in some parts of Nairobi, instead of using teargas or rubber bullets, one police officer decided to use a live bullet.
By bad luck the bullet hit William and he died on the spot. It’s alleged that he was part of a gang that was stoning police officers and looting supermarkets within the area.
Kisumu County Governor Anyang Nyong’o has issued a statement , and urged the authorities to arrest the police immediately and be prosecuted. The governor also send his condolences, and cursed the act of police officers using live bullets to neutralise demonstrators.
