Esther owned a small shop in Nairobi’s Eastlands. It wasn’t much, but it fed her children and gave her pride. Every day she woke up early, opened her business, and worked hard like thousands of other Kenyans. But one night, everything collapsed.
Thieves broke in and cleared almost everything—goods, cash, even her personal documents. Esther cried until she had no tears left. The next morning, she sat on the floor of her empty shop, feeling like her life had ended. The police wrote a report, but she knew the chances were slim.
Fear became her daily companion. She could not sleep. Every sound outside felt like danger returning. A neighbor advised her to visit a doctor known for offering protection rituals and emotional healing after trauma.
Esther went reluctantly. The doctor listened carefully and gave her herbs for calming stress and restoring courage. He also performed a cleansing meant to remove fear from her spirit. Whether it was belief or the comfort of being heard, Esther began to feel stronger.
Weeks later, community members helped her rebuild. Months after, some thieves were arrested through neighborhood surveillance. Esther says the robbery broke her business, but healing restored her mind.
