Was It a Script or Reality? Kenyans Question Why the DCI Is Still Struggling to Find Collins Jumaisi
Collins Jumaisi, along with 12 other suspects, allegedly escaped from a police cell in Gigiri in October 2024. The DCI had accused Jumaisi of killing 42 women, whose bodies were found at the Kware dumpsite. According to the DCI, Jumaisi was a serial killer and acted alone, with weapons recovered from his home. However, since his escape, the DCI has struggled to locate him, raising questions about what is truly happening.
The families of the victims whose loved ones’ bodies were discovered at the Kware dumpsite have yet to see justice. There has been little progress in the case, largely because the main suspect is still at large.
Many Kenyans believe the DCI is capable of finding anyone they target, and if they wanted to catch someone, they would eventually succeed. However, in the case of Jumaisi, things don’t seem to add up. Some Kenyans speculate that the whole story was merely a cover-up to appease the public after the GenZ protests, as the government was still fragile at the time. They suggest the Jumaisi case might have been fabricated to calm the public.
On the other hand, the DCI claims they are still actively searching for him, and they have even asked the public for assistance in locating the suspect. The police officers on duty when Jumaisi escaped were reportedly dismissed.
Kenyans are now asking the government whether the families of the murdered women will ever receive justice. Will Jumaisi be found? Why is it so difficult for the DCI to track him down?
