The Dubai They Don’t Want You To See, Poor Street Where Most Kenyan Workers And Immigrants Live
Dubai is known as one the best tourist attraction city in the world. This luxurious city is located in United Arab Emirates. It has a population of about 3 million people and 90% of the people in the city are visitors and immigrants.
From outside Dubai is just viewed as an expensive city with very beautiful sceneries, because that is the marketing strategy that has been used to market the city and attract as many tourists as possible.
It is true that it is a very beautiful city with huge attractive buildings and sand dunes. However there is the dark side of Dubai, the streets where most poor people live.
The street is identified as Sonapour, this is a street where most immigrants, those who are imported or come in the city to look for casual labour, especially Kenyans who migrate to Dubai to do the common casual labour stay.
It is a street of poor people, who depend on daily salary, life is difficult and here people survive hoping to atleast save money and go back to their countries and start a business or something that can change their life.
In the street people share rooms, you can get about 10 people sharing one room. There is poor sanitation and the environment is just uncomfortable. However they survive and struggle to live a day at a time as they prepare for a better tomorrow. Some even sleep in the streets.
