Speaker Kingi Request Ruto To Pay 16 Senators Ksh.1M Each For Defeating Governors Football Team

After President William Ruto promised Harambee Stars players Ksh. 1 million each if they won any match in the CHAN competition, a reward that was later increased to Ksh. 2.5 million, Senate Speaker Amason Kingi now wants the president to also motivate the Senate football team. The team, which consists of 16 senators, recently defeated a governors’ team in a friendly match. Kingi is requesting that each senator be awarded Ksh. 1 million.

That amounts to a total of Ksh. 16 million. Kingi believes the Senate team also deserves motivation, and if the president supports them financially, they might perform exceptionally well in upcoming regional competitions.

Kingi stated that he would be very grateful if the president accepted his request and handed over Ksh. 16 million to the Senate team as a motivation package. He added that they are also preparing for the East Africa Parliamentary Games, which are scheduled to take place soon.
