Okiyah Omtatah: Why I Rejected Ksh.5 Million Bribe From Francis Atwoli

Busia Senator Okiyah Omtatah has decided to spill the beans on how Francis Atwoli tried to bribe him 4 years ago. This comes after Atwoli told Omtatah that he can’t win the presidential election in 2027 because he has no enough money to campaign.

Speaking in an interview with Lynn Ngugi, Omtatah said that around 2020, the government had appointed a certain commission, but it had not followed the constitution.

He therefore decided to go to the court to seek justice, as he was preparing, Atwoli invited him for a meeting, and during the meeting he came with cash, ksh.5 Million.

He wanted Omtatah to take the money and withdraw the case. However Omtatah rejected the money, and since then, him and Atwoli have never been in good terms. The senator alleged that Atwoli is among the government officials who are used to bribe people.
