One of the most famous Kenyan veteran musician , Mejja Genge well known as Okwongo, has finally come out openly to reveal to the public why he has been silent for a while.

For almost two months, Major has not been releasing songs, and he hasn’t been spotted performing in any event as usual. His last performance was in Australia where his voice lost and he was forced to cut short his trip and seek for medical assistance.

Speaking in an interview with Willy Tuva, Majje said that he has been battling with throat sickness. At some point he was coughing blood because his throat was damaged and had issues.

After seeking medii attention, the doctors advised him to take a short break from doing music. He was told to stop drinking and eating sugary things because they are the ones that had brought him the throat issues.
The doctors also told him to take alot of water, because they realised that the musician wasn’t drinking water, he was used to taking sugary things, yet his throat has high level of acid. Therefore he is required to take more water, to neutralise it.

The musician said that his voice has not yet returned to normal , but he is in a stable condition, he is hopeful that he will be back in the studio soon and record some hit songs.
He urged all his fans to pray for him, because he doesn’t want to quit music. Music is his passion, and it is something that he loves and he enjoys doing it.
