How I Started Earning a Salary of Kshs 567,890 Per Month From Kshs 20,000 While Working in Judiciary
I never imagined that there would come a time when I would find the courage to share my story.
Let me start by telling you something that happened to me in 2019 and though it was really humiliating, I think it changed the course of my life.
We went to my husband’s rural home for Christmas celebrations and a mini-family gathering. The whole family was there; his sisters, brothers and their children.
Things were all cool until I sent one of the kids to buy me airtime at the local shop. All hell broke loose as the mother, my sister-in-law, told me in unprintable terms that I should give birth to a kid to be sending for errands. She said that if my womb cant bear kids, then I should hire a maid, not her kids.
She said this in front of the whole family and nobody stopped her. Maybe she just said what was on everyone’s mind. My husband left with his head hanging in shame. That evening, while everyone was asleep, we left and came back to Nairobi.
We didn’t speak along the way despite it being a six hour journey. I later learnt that my husband had been under a lot of pressure to marry another woman. We had been married for more than 10 years, tried everything under the moon but couldn’t have a kid. Continue Reading
