How I Finally Got Married After 20 Years of Being Single
My name is Margaret, and for most of my adult life I carried a painful label—“the woman who never got married.”
Growing up in Kisii, I always dreamed of building a loving family. Many of my friends got married in their twenties, but for me, relationships never seemed to last. Some men disappeared without explanation, while others suddenly lost interest just when things appeared serious.
Years passed quickly.
By the time I turned forty, the whispers had become louder. Relatives constantly asked why I was still single, while neighbors quietly speculated about hidden reasons behind my situation.
The loneliness was sometimes unbearable. Weddings became painful events for me because they reminded me of the life I had always wanted but never seemed able to reach.
One day, after sharing my struggles with a close friend, she advised me to seek guidance from a doctor who helped people overcome difficult life obstacles.
Although I was skeptical at first, I decided to try.
In the months that followed, my life slowly began to change. My confidence improved, my outlook became positive, and I started socializing again without fear or embarrassment.
Not long afterward, I met a kind and patient man through mutual friends. Our connection was natural and genuine in a way I had never experienced before.
A year later, we celebrated our wedding surrounded by friends and family who had waited many years to see that moment.
After twenty years of waiting, I finally found the love I had been praying for.
Sometimes the journey to happiness takes longer than expected—but when it arrives, it makes every year of waiting worthwhile.
