Eric Omondi: How My Brother’s Death Affected Me & Why I Thought Government Had Killed Him

It has been a year since Eric Omondi lost his younger brother Fred Omondi in a very tragic road accident. Fred Died after a Matatu rammed into a Bodaboda that was carrying him somewhere in Nairobi. He died on the spot and the accident happened very early in the morning.

Eric Omondi said that the coincidence of the accident and his activism that time, made him doubt that the government had plotted the death of his brother to silence him. That time he was trending and he had even caused chaos at the parliament.

Fred Omondi’s death occurred just a week before the GenZ invaded the parliament. On that week, Eric Omondi had also invaded the parliament alone, and had been arrested taken at central police station, later released. So the death of Fred made him think that government had planned it to silence him.

He had to go at the scene where the accident occurred, he was showed the damaged motorbike and, later he went to see the riders grave, both Fred Omondi and the rider died. The Matatu that hit them was also grilled at the police station, that is what made him believe that indeed it was a road accident.

Eric said that the death of Fred Omondi still affects him till now , he will never heal from it, because they were not only brothers, they were also very close friends and business partners.
