Douglas Kipruto opens up on prison life hardships.
Douglas Kipruto is among the Kenyan youths who have been through alot. He is a former thief and murger who later reformed after escaping death more than one time.

Speaking in an interview, Kipruto said that he went to Nairobi to look for greener pastures. He started as a Mandazi vendor at Kasabuni, Korogocho.

He was very innocent and drug free, he just used to do his work and go to the house to relax.
However things changed all over sudden after his friends convinced him to join a criminal gang. Douglas Kipruto became a murger and started robbing people in Korogocho and Eastlands.
The days of a thief are numbered, it took only few months for Douglas to be arrested.
He was sentenced to jail, released and also arrested and jailed again for almost 1year and some months.

Douglas said that the life in prison was very hectic and it taught him alot. He said in prison you can easily become a gay or someone can easily make you his wife.
The prison environment is very different and it is not life that a normal human being can wish to live.
Prison life made him reform completely. After being released from jail, Kipruto decided to reform and now he is a good person.
He urged youths to avoid joining criminal gangs because crime life can lead to premature death.
