Sharon Kipkirui did not see this coming. Neither did she see it go away to the land of failure and darkness. She expected a smooth transition from single to married, to happily married and then finally to happy motherhood. Problems started when she brought home her 39-year-old lover from nearby Kericho for formal Introductions. As soon as Ezekiel stepped foot in the house, her mother fainted!!! She didn’t say much, just that she didn’t approve of Sharon’s choice and that she should break up with him right there and then. Sharon was shocked!! Why the sudden ill treatment of her boyfriend when all along, nobody had issue with her dating him.
Her mother had to confess to her husband about why she had such a negative view to her daughter’s betrothal. Apparently, she dated Ezekiel years ago when both of them were in high school. In fact, she got pregnant with Sharon around that time, and could not ascertain if the pregnancy was Ezekiel’s or Samson’s, her other lover back then. So, it could be very possible that Sharon was dating her own father, oblivious to that disturbing fact.
Unfortunately, Sharon, being stubborn had totally refused to let go. Divisions soon emerged, some picking her side while others convinced her to listen to her mother’s wishes. Out of anger, Sharon left home, promising that she would never step foot there ever again. Her mother was visibly distressed but couldn’t open up about her mischievous past.
The silent treatment continued until one day Sharon called home crying. Apparently, Ezekiel had dumped her via voicemail. She was so shaken and depressed.
