Butere Girls Boycott Perform Echoes Of War Play As They Protests For The Release Of Cleophas Malala
The curtains were opened, it was time for Butere Girls highschool to perform the much expected GenZ Play, echoes of wars. The girls were on the stage, they looked angry and sad.
One brave girl led them in singing the national anthem, then she said that the only performance they can do for the nation is to sing the national anthem. After that they all stormed out of the stage, and started protesting as they demand for the release of their Director Cleophas Malala.
In the video shared by NTV, the young ladies are spotted running around as they demand Malala to be released. They said that they can’t perform the play without malala.
It is a controversial play that is criticizing the government, the president collaborating with DCI deployed hundreds of police officers to frustrate the young school girls. The government doesn’t want them to perform the play despite the court ruling out that the play doesn’t violate any law.
