Bon eye, one of the members of the famous music group that was celebrated back then, P-Unit, caused stir online, after he decided to let the cat out of the bag, by revealing why the crew, denied Diamond Platnumz a collaboration.
Speaking in an interview with Spm Buzz, Bon said that back then P-Unit was among the best crew in Africa, and they were all superstars. That time Diamond Platnumz, was just ab upcoming and a struggling musician.
He personally decided to reach out at them, by himself, he humbled and requested for a collabo. Diamond had already written a song and he just wanted P-Unit to feature him on his own song. However the crew turned down the request.
According to Bon, Diamond Platnumz, waited them for 4 good hours, and after that, Gabu said that they should not collaborate ,with him, because of his lips. Since Diamond was a struggling artist, he just looked like a very broke man, and P-Unit was not ready to feature him in any song or collaboration because of his appearance.
They even went to Nigeria with him, and he curtain raised for them. But with time table change, Diamond continued to work hard and smart. He managed to take in such rejections and used them to propel himself.
After few years, Diamond started to become a big deal in Africa. As at 2023, you cannot compare the lifestyle, ratecard and funbase of Diamond Platnumz to that of P-Unit members. He is much ahead and he is arguably one of the richest artists in East Africa.
