“I was Born Without a Vagina, Cervix and Uterus” Julian Peter.

Julian Peter is one of the few women in Kenya who were born with one of the rare conditions, identified as MRKH. Julian Narrates how she was born without a vagina, uterus and cervix. Speaking in an interview, Julian said that the condition was discovered while she was in form 3, after going to seek for leg treatment in hospital.

She revealed that she was born prematurely at 7 months in Ukambani. She was under a natural incubator in the village untill she was big. However what really shocked her is that untill form 3 she hadn’t seen her periods or experienced menstruation.

So when she went to the hospital complaining about leg complications, the health care provider asked her the last time she had menstruation, she was shocked and told the doctor that she hasn’t experienced and doesn’t know about it. The doctor then suggested for her to be scanned and it was found out that she has no uterus and cervix.
It was a very shocking news but she was just forced to go back to the school since the surgery of that condition is very expensive. After completing form four, Julian decided to go for a surgery in order her to have the complete female reproductive system.

By good luck, the surgery was successful and she is now able to do intimacy like all other ladies. Julian has urged all the parents to accept and be ready to be there for their children who have this rare condition.
