How Kenyans Are Earning Ksh.258 Bob Per Hour For Training AI

An expose done by an international online media house, has exposed how Kenyans are poorly paid to work for AI. The documentary shared by 60 minutes media house, featured a section of Kenyans who reside in the streets of Nairobi and they are working for the AI company.

The young people with degrees exposed how they are overworking but paid peanuts. However they have no options but to take the money because of the poor economic situation of the nation.

They are being paid Ksh.258 bob per hour which is equivalent to 2 dollars. The work they do is to teach the AI how to think like a human being. They label items for them and even help them to identify colours. It is a tiresome job and there is alot of monotony.

Some even work for more than 8 hours in order to make atleast some good amount of money. However this really affects them mentally, because they keep on repeating the same cycle.
