Poor Drainage And Roads Making Kilimani Estate of Rich People Look Like Mathare
Poor Drainage And Roads Making Kilimani Estate of Rich People Look Like Mathare.
For a very long time Kilimani Estate in Nairobi has been considered as one of the leafy suburbs in the city. It is actually an estate where most wealthy people live, but slowly by slowly things are now changing.
It all started with congestion of apartments and airbnbs, the residents complained to the county government concerning the building of many apartments in the estate, but Sakaja gave a greenlight. This interfered with the drainage systems in the estate and now they are prone to floods and the waters have also been destroying roads in the estate.
A good number of roads in the estate are in poor condition, and Kilimani is slowly turning to Mathare, especially during the rainy seasons. It is sad to see such happening in a leafy suburbs where people pay rent upto ksh.70,000 for a two bedroom house.
