” Wasaliti” Kenyans Have Started Unfollowing Artists Who Performed At Jamhuri Event

Musicians and artists who performed at Jamhuri event, which was held at Uhuru Gardens and President William Ruto attended, have been facing backlash online, especially on twitter.

The X spaces are no longer safe for them. In a space that was hosted by Francis Gaitho and Amerix, a good number of angry kenyans agreed to unfollow artists who performed at Jamhuri event. Among them are Mejja, Juacali, Gidi, Mr Lenny and many more others.

They termed their actions as a betrayal to the people of Kenya, and some of them like Gidi have started to receive hate messages from Kenyans.

On the other hand, the artists have come out to defend themselves, in a statement that was shared by Gidi, he said that they were entertaining Kenyans and their performance wasn’t based on any political side, it was just pure entertainment.
